For this year we have chosen to support the MG 20-20 Mark W. Graham Foundation. This is a local charity foundation was started by friends and family of a local fallen soldier, Mark W. Graham. The foundation gives scholarship funds to graduating seniors based on their character instead of their athletic or academic ability. Here is a quote from their website:

 

"The Character Award is designed to recognize a well-rounded young person whose contributions to his/her community may not be acknowledged by more traditional awards and provide him/her with financial assistance to achieve a dream. This scholarship award evaluates recipients on their strength of character alone, regardless of academic or athletic achievement. The Mark W. Graham Foundation’s aim is to honor students whose lives and achievements demonstrate an enduring commitment to qualities associated with goodness.

These graduating seniors should exemplify the core values of character - caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and citizenship - and provide examples of being a positive role model for others."
